The number of scales licensed commercially has remained flat despite the tremendous growth in Iowa's agribusiness trade being done over scales as the method of sale. The number of large scale inspectors has decreased from 6 in 1990, to 2 in 2010. The number of small scale inspectors has decreased from 10 in 1990 to 5 in 2010 .
