Relay Iowa provides full telephone accessibility to people who are hearing or speech impaired.

To Use Relay Iowa, Call toll free 800-735-2943 (voice) or 800-735-2942 (TTY).

After dialing the appropriate number a specially trained Communication Assistant (CA) will answer. Give the CA the number you would like to call and the CA will stay on the line to relay conversations electronically over a test telephone (TTY) or verbally to hearing persons. The CA will relay the call word for word and keep the conversation strictly confidential. Local calls are relayed free of charge and long distance calls will be billed at a reduced rate. Relay Iowa is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
