DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be visiting Scott, Dubuque, Jackson, Clinton, Iowa, Keokuk, Jefferson, Henry and Louisa Counties on Wednesday, July 10 and Thursday, July 11 as part of his annual efforts to visit each of Iowa’s 99 counties.
On Wednesday, July 10 Northey will speak to the Bettendorf Rotary, attend the greyhound races in Dubuque, visit a farm near Maquoketa and tour Wendling Quarries in DeWitt. On Thursday, July 11 Northey will visit the Iowa County Fair in Marengo, tour Sigourney Tractor and Implement, tour a conservation project near Fairfield, visit East Grove Farms near Salem and attend the Fair Youth Center building dedication in Columbus Junction.

Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his second term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture.
