DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be visiting Franklin, Butler and Black Hawk Counties on Monday, July 8 as part of his efforts to visit each of Iowa’s 99 counties again in 2013.
Northey will tour a CREP wetland east of Sheffield, visit Rick Juchem’s farm near Plainfield and then speak to the Black Hawk County Farm Bureau annual meeting in Waterloo.

Franklin County – 12:30 a.m., visit CREP wetland, on Spruce Ave., approximately 1 mile south of 255th St., east of Sheffield (map of site and more information about CREP wetlands available upon request)
Butler County – 2:30 p.m., visit Rick Juchem’s farm, 33635 110th St., Plainfield
Black Hawk County – 6:00 p.m., speak at Black Hawk County Farm Bureau annual meeting, Waterloo Center for the Arts, 225 Commercial St., Waterloo
Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his second term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture.
