DES MOINES –The Iowa average unleaded retail gasoline prices fell $.12 this week, closing at $3.78. The price of Mid-Grade Blend in Iowa (10% ethanol) also fell $.12, averaging $3.69 per gallon.
Crude Oil Summary
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.18 per barrel over last week, closing at $93.31.
Brent crude oil rose in price this week by $1.33 per barrel, currently at $103.73.
One year ago WTI crude sold for $84.29 and Brent crude was at $98.65.
Motor Fuels
As of Tuesday, June 4th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.78 across Iowa according to AAA. This is down $.12 from last week and up $.39 from one year ago. The national average on Tuesday was $3.62, holding steady at last week’s price.
Retail diesel fuel prices in Iowa were down a penny on the Tuesday report with a statewide average of $3.76. One year ago diesel prices averaged $3.70 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel average is $.10 per gallon lower than the national average of $3.86.
Wholesale ethanol prices fell $.02 this week, closing at $2.68. The price of Mid-Grade Blend in Iowa (10% ethanol) closed at $3.69 per gallon, down $.12 from last week’s price and up $.39 from one year ago.

Natural Gas prices in Iowa were down $.13 from last week’s report, ending the week at $4.00 / MMbtu.
