DES MOINES –The Iowa average unleaded retail gasoline prices fell $.12 this week, closing at $3.90. The price of Mid-Grade Blend in Iowa (10% ethanol) also fell, down $.13, averaging $3.81 per gallon.
Crude Oil Summary
The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $3.03 per barrel over last week, closing at $93.13.
Brent crude oil fell in price this week by $.07 per barrel, currently at $102.40.
One year ago WTI crude sold for $87.82 and Brent crude was at $103.85.
Motor Fuels
As of Wednesday, May 29th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.90 across Iowa according to AAA. This is down $.12 from last week and up $.47 from one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.62, down $.04 from last week’s price.
Retail diesel fuel prices in Iowa were down a penny on the Tuesday report with a statewide average of $3.77. One year ago diesel prices averaged $3.77 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel average is $.11 per gallon lower than the national average of $3.88.
Wholesale ethanol prices rose $.07 this week, closing at $2.70. The price of Mid-Grade Blend in Iowa (10% ethanol) closed at $3.81 per gallon, down $.13 from last week’s price and up $.72 from one year ago.
Heating Fuels
Natural Gas prices in Iowa were down a penny from last week’s report, ending the week at $4.13 / MMbtu.
