NORTHEY AND LATHAM TO VISIT MT. AYR, BEDFORD, RED OAK AND AVOCA ON JULY 21

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey and Iowa Congressman Tom Latham today announced that they will be visiting Ringgold, Taylor, Montgomery and Pottawattamie Counties on Saturday, July 21th to meet with Iowans and listen to their thoughts and concerns.

Northey and Latham will attend Ayr Days in Mt. Ayr, visit the Taylor County Fair in Bedford, the Montgomery County Fair in Red Oak and the Pottawattamie County Fair in Avoca.  They will be available to the public and the press at all events.

Saturday, July 21, 2012
Ringgold County – 9:00 a.m., attend Ayr Days, town square, Mt. Ayr
Taylor County – 10:30 a.m., visit the Taylor County Fair, 2715 Linwood Ave., Bedford
Montgomery County – 12:30 p.m., visit the Montgomery County Fair, 1809 4th St., Red Oak
Pottawattamie County – 2:30 p.m., visit the Pottawattamie County Fair, 301 West Lincoln Ave., Avoca

Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his second term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture.
