DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be visiting Lucas, Clarke and Decatur Counties on Friday, July 20th as part of his efforts to visit each of Iowa’s 99 counties again in 2012.
Northey will host a town meeting at the Farm Bureau office in Chariton, visit the Clarke County Fair in Osceola and then will address Decatur Farm Bureau members and fairgoers at the Decatur County fair in Leon. All events are open to the public and press.

Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his second term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture.
