DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be visiting Appanoose, Jefferson and Henry Counties on Wednesday, June 27th as part of his efforts to visit each of Iowa’s 99 counties again in 2012. The meetings give Northey an opportunity to hear from Iowans and discuss agriculture and the issues facing farmers and consumers in the state.
Northey will participate in the WHO Radio Great Iowa Tractor Ride in Centerville, visit the Jefferson County Fair in Fairfield and then will tour Grasshorse Technologies in Winfield. The Centerville and Fairfield events are open to the press and Northey will be available to the media following his tour of Grasshorse Technologies.

Appanoose County – 9:00 a.m., drive in the WHO Radio Great Iowa Tractor Ride, will leave from and return to the Appanoose County Fairgrounds, Franklin St., Centerville
Jefferson County – 2:30 p.m., visit the Jefferson County Fair, 2606 West Burlington, Fairfield
Henry County – 4:00 p.m., tour Grasshorse Technologies, 111 North Locust, Winfield
Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his second term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture.
