DES MOINES – Global crude oil dropped in the last week, with gasoline and natural gas prices also falling. The full report follows:
Crude Oil Summary
The price of global crude oil had a moderate drop this week with West Texas Intermediate (WTI) $1.36 lower per barrel over last week, closing at $98.01.
Brent crude oil fell for the second week in a row to $107.77 per barrel on Tuesday’s close, down $4.13 from the previous week.
Motor Fuels
As of Tuesday, November 22nd, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.27 across Iowa according to AAA. This is down $.07 as compared to last week. The national average on Tuesday was $3.33, also down $.07 from last week’s price.
Retail diesel fuel prices in Iowa rose a penny on the Tuesday report with a statewide average of $4.01. This is $.03 per gallon below the national average of $3.98.
Heating Fuels
Heating fuels came in this week with propane down a cent with a statewide average of $1.90 per gallon. Home heating oil was down $.02 since last week’s report ending with a statewide average of $3.68 per gallon. Natural Gas prices in Iowa continued its downward trend falling $.05 ending the week at $3.04 / MMbtu.
