DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be visiting Howard, Clayton, Fayette, Chickasaw, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque and Bremer Counties on Thursday, July 28 and Friday, July 29 as part of his efforts to visit each of Iowa’s 99 counties again in 2011. The meetings give Northey an opportunity to hear from Iowans and discuss agriculture and the issues facing farmers in the state.
Northey will speak to a Kiwanis in Riceville, speak to the Clayton County Corn Growers in Elkader, visit the Fayette County Fair in West Union, speak to the Chickasaw County Corn Growers in Fredericksburg, tour Heartland Acres Agribition Center in Independence, host a town meeting in Manchester, visit the Dubuque County Fair in Dubuque and speak to a Corn Growers group in Waverly.
“These meetings are a great opportunity to listen to farmers and learn more about what we need to be working on at the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship,” Northey said. “I have learned a lot from these meetings over the past four years and am looking forward to continuing to get out and hear from rural residents.”
