DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be visiting Decatur, Wayne, Lucas, Monroe and Appanoose Counties on Tuesday, May 10th as part of his efforts to visit each of Iowa’s 99 counties again in 2011. The meetings give Northey an opportunity to hear from Iowans and discuss agriculture and the issues facing farmers in the state.
Northey will host a town meetings in Leon and Chariton, visit a livestock auction in Humeston, tour Quality Ag Services in Albia, and speak at Moulton-Udell FFA chapter banquet in Moulton. The public is invited to the events in Leon, Humeston and Chariton and all events are open to the press.
“These meetings are a great opportunity to listen to farmers and see what is going on in communities and businesses around the state,” Northey said. “I have learned a lot from these visits over the past four years and am looking forward to continuing to get out and hear from Iowans.”
