DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be visiting Lee and Van Buren Counties on Monday, March 14th as part of his efforts to visit each of Iowa’s 99 counties again in 2011. The meetings give Northey an opportunity to hear from Iowans and discuss agriculture and the issues facing farmers in the state.
Northey will be speaking at members of the Fort Madison Kiwanis club in Fort Madison and then will host a town meeting in Keosauqua. The Fort Madison event is open to the press and the Keosauqua event is open to the public and press.

Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his second term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture. |
