NORTHEY TO VISIT ROCKWELL CITY AND FORT DODGE ON APRIL 13
Visits are part of Effort to Meet with Iowans in each of the State’s 99 Counties


DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be visiting Calhoun and Webster Counties on Tuesday, April 13 as part of his effort to visit each of Iowa’s 99 counties again in 2010 to meet with Iowans and discuss agriculture and the issues facing farmers in the state.

Northey will host a town meeting in Rockwell City and then speak to Fort Dodge Feed and Grain Annual Meeting in Fort Dodge.

“I’ve enjoyed these meetings and learned a lot from them during the past three years and look forward to visiting these communities,” Northey said.

Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his first term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the opportunities available through renewable energy, encouraging conservation and stewardship, and telling the story of Iowa agriculture.
