Horticulture and Farmers Market Bureau
Farmers Market Assistance

Technical assistance is available to community organizers to guide them in establishing, developing and sustaining a farmers market in their community with the Iowa Farmers Market Development Manual; for managers there are materials, resources and contacts to help them in the management, promotion and improvement of their markets; and for individuals who are or would like to vend at an Iowa farmers market.

The bureau takes a hands-on approach with the annual Farmers Market Workshop geared to managers and vendors along with Fresh News which is published several times throughout the year.

Farmers markets are Iowa’s number one direct marketing outlet for fresh, locally grown produce.  Along with fresh fruits and vegetables, many markets offer a variety of products from eggs and baked goods to meat, wine, cheese and crafts.

Visit, shop and enjoy Iowa’s farmers markets!  Locations and market information can be found on the Farmers Market Directory
