Organic Logo Organic Certification Program
for Producers

Completing all the necessary paperwork for organic certification can be taxing.  We would like to make this process as simple as possible.  This overview will take you through the process and provide you with resources in the hopes that you will be able to complete the application packet as accurately and timely as possible. 

1.  Review the instruction sheet before beginning.  Familiarize yourself with the NOP’s Organic regulations found on-line by clicking here Electronic Code of Federal Regulations:

2.   Now you are ready to begin completing your Organic System Plan (OSP). The sections should be completed in order according to your certification intentions:


            Crops only
            Crops and Livestock
            Livestock only
            Renewing Livestock(with binder system)

3.   Now that you have completed your organic system plan, please review the Common Errors Checklist before submitting your application. 

4.  Due dates for producers are:
     March 15 early deadline/reduced fee
     Final deadline May 1

5.  Please mail your completed OSP to:          IDALS
